Action Research Plan

Wow, it looks like you are taking on a lot of tasks at once. I haven't been in the elementary environment for a long time and you made me remember how much you have to do. You seem to be math related, so for you the data will be fun. I don't do math-ELA here, but you do seem like you have a well thought out plan. I like how you have your timeline so you can reflect at points. You also have some great evaluation ideas pin pointed. On a final note, I think your plan looks great. Good Job!
ReplyDeleteYour plan looks great and very thought out. What type of interventions will you be utilizing?
ReplyDeleteThat is something I am going to have to research. It will also depend on the need of the student. I know that I have students that are having a hard time with number sense in the fifth grade, which then leads to computation problems in all the operations.
DeleteI have my hands full. I am currently looking for resources for these interventions.
Great plan. Are you going to present your findings to your peers and colleagues? I like the use of surveys that already exist out there. I will need to do the same. That would probably ease some of the tension from my site supervisor and lessen the workload for me. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThis plan looks great for identifying the areas of need, but I agree with Jamie. What interventions will you use? It may be hard to know exactly what you need for every situation, but you may want to do some research to find what interventions have proven to be beneficial. Also, are you only planning to meet these student's needs within the classroom, or might you consider implementing a small group pull out to target groups of students needing the most help, or offering additional tutoring? Good luck with your action research!
ReplyDeleteI spoke with my principal and she does not want me to pull out the students in the beginning of the year. So I suggested my I push in. I go in and pull those students in the classroom to help them? Thank you for your feedback. I am working on finding interventions. Do you have any suggestions?
DeleteWe are doing a lot of the same research. I am doing mine over the remediation of the end of year exams. I am looking at the methods of which the students are being taught. Are the being given the same information as usually or are the lessons tailored to their learning style. Are the students taking advantage of the remediation. Are students showing up?(Summer remediation) What is different in the way students are getting the information. Did the student know how to pass the test the first time, but was not motivated to do it. Were there extrinsic factors that hindered the student from being successful the first time. These were a lot of questions I had for my research. Hope this helps.
